The 'Perfect' Songs for Wedding

Today, let's talk about something different.
As much as I want to write many but hopefully mind challenging posts, I realize that sometimes it is better to write about other topics. The various types of sharing shall paint a colourful life into this blog.

While I am on the road to wedding, one of the big tasks is to prepare a song list that we like. Of course the easiest way out is to have your wedding music band to pick for you. However, for the author and his partner, we would prefer to select our own song list and let the band executes it.

One of the songs that I came across is Perfect by Ed Sheeran.

It's amazing how this song never makes it to the top wedding song list. The lyrics and the melody are just perfect.

Meanwhile, for other wedding songs recommendation, I gladly share them with you. I am sure you can get it online or some other articles too. But yea, hopefully it helps.

2) Beautiful in White, by Westlife
3) All of Me, by John Legend
4) A Whole New World, by Peabo Bryson & Regina Belle
5) 你最珍贵, by 张学友 & 高慧君
6) 最浪漫的事, by 金志文
7) Every Time We Touch, by Cascada
8) Like I'm Gonna Lose You, by Megan Trainor ft John Legend

The above are part of our must have repertoire. Personal Preference.

The only thing we need to enhance on is probably finding more upbeat songs and also more Mandarin songs, If you had any recommendation in mind, do let me know. Cheers!

Let's Steal the Time

They say stealing is a criminal act, but does that really apply if you were trying to steal the time?

I have come across several books highlighting how to steal the time, i.e. Time Management Skills and etc.etc. I believe you do as well. However, which method do you find it really effective?

I believe the answer is different for different people. In this modern era, it's almost impossible to find a template that fits everyone. Therefore, we should instead look for a way to tailor a template that fits our own needs and requirements. This applies similarly to time management method as well.

From my humble opinion, I grasp the concept of time during my primary school life. Reason? At that time, I was an avid fan of Dragon Ball comic. If you read Dragon Ball, you will know that they have this Chamber of Time. Upon entering this chamber, the time outside of the world moves at an extreme slow pace (1 minute of the world time = 6 hours in the chamber). With this chamber, we have the luxury of time. Time will not be scarce anymore. Isn't this an ideal room for everyone?

This leads us to a question, #mindchallenge.
If time is abundant, do we really care about it so much then?

Anyway,
I would like to share my tips on how I steal the time. Believe it or not, it works effectively for me (I hope it does for you as well). What's more convincing is that this is still a work in progress. Truth be told, I am really excited about this time stealing project.

Beat the Snooze
It took me tremendous efforts to overcome this. The most important thing about this is that you shall not have the slightest thought of falling back into the bed and reassure yourself that you will wake up on the next alarm call. It will never happen!

Therefore, in order to beat the snooze, train yourself to have the purest thoughts that this is a brand new exciting day. There are so many exciting personal things to do. Now it's the perfect time to do so. Bounce out of the bed and start doing it. Make it a habit! When you beat the snooze, you have stolen time.

Rise before the Sun
This is an amazing thing that you must try. Naturally, when you are able to beat the snooze, you can rise before the sun. Suddenly, you feel that you will have ample time to do your favourite things before heading off to work.

How to rise before the sun?

I believe the most convincing method is you invest 10 days to rise at 6am or earlier. Do the things that you never really have time to do so previously. After 10 days, if you find it effective, you will realize the awesomeness for this practice. With that, you will naturally love to rise before the sun.

The most important thing to take note is tailor this according to your needs (how much time you want to steal without jeopardizing your own health). I mentioned about tailoring a template that best fits you, that applies here.

Set how much time you need to do your favourite things before work/schedule. Plan ahead. Your whole day will be surprisingly good.

Slice your Time into Many Layers
This method is a bit too technical. I will leave this for the next time. But the main idea circulates around maximising the efficiency of your time usage, instead of pretending to LLB (Look Like Busy).

A more concrete example will be blogging (exactly what I am doing right now). I spend half an hour to write this, so that equals to 30 minutes of my life. Assuming each reader spends about 1 minute to read through my blog post, my post would have stolen n minutes from n readers. Ok now, imagine this is a piece of profit making business. If you could do exactly the above, you could have stolen much more time from your customers.

The best thing is this is completely LEGAL!

In a nutshell,
You can share with me your most effective time management skill which you deem it as good as stealing the time. It could be helpful to the people.

Are you interested to steal the time now?

Just Saying.

"I want to quit my job!"

"I want to quit my job!"

Does it sound familiar?

I bet almost all of us will hear this from our colleagues, not once, not twice, but all the time. So how many of them have left?

The answer is none.

The reason is simple because no one will scream out his/her plan if he really wanted to execute it. This by statistic will increase the chances of success. Therefore, for people who repeatedly ranting about leaving or quitting his/her current job will actually stay put, until he/she suddenly becomes quiet. Then that could be a sign of leaving.

Anyway, I have been thinking when is the best time to quit your current job?

I left my first job just under 2 years at there. At that time, a better opportunity dropped by, but it actually put me in a dilemma because I had a good affiliation to my company then. I felt at ease working at the company then. Suffice to say, it has become a comfort zone for me.

Because of this, I knew I have to move on to a new role to reignite the diminishing flame within me. Of course the line manager (interviewer) played his part perfectly in laying out an exciting challenge ahead of me, should I be on board. It was through this experience that I realized the importance in keeping myself motivated all the time, i.e. staying hungry as ever in the fight against unknown.

Rejecting comfort zone and making bold move to take on new challenge serve as my constant reminder in my current role. It is better to be overwhelmed by the challenges than staying in the comfort zone eternally. The excitement from the ups and downs of life is far more convincing that a flat life. Imagine the heart beat image from a cardiogram. Up and down and up and down and up and down. When it becomes flat straight line, we die.

Therefore, when is the best time to quit your job? It is when that flat straight line appears. Go elsewhere to look for electrical shock to make your heart beats again. Be mindful that it is not advisable to rely too much on that electrical shock. You might just get electrocuted one day. (i.e. constantly switching jobs is not beneficial to your life)

I bet for those who do not read my article in full (i.e. reading only the title) will start spreading false rumor that the author wants to quit his job.

I can only laugh and carry on my quest to success.

命,是失败者的借口。
运,是成功者的谦词。

Translate:
Loser Blames Poor Fate.
Winner Humbly Thanks Luck.

Just Saying.
